New Gurgaon gets its first digital post office

Chief Post Master General Col. Sukhdev Raj inaugurated the post office at Vatika India Next, Sector 82

In a bid to fasten the postal services in New Gurgaon area of the millennium city, the Haryana government along with Enviro – the facilities management wing of Vatika Group, has launched New Gurgaon's first digital and advanced Post Office. The post office was launched today by Chief Post Master General Col. Sukhdev Raj at Signature Avenue, Vatika India Next, Sector 82.

Chief Post Master General, Haryana, Col. Sukhdev Raj said, "We are very glad that a very spacious area has been provided by the Enviro team to us for setting up the post office. This post office will be at the doorstep of the 6000 residents of Vatika India Next. The system here at the post office is completely digital and there is no chance of any kind of fraud."

Col. Raj briefed the residents of Vatika India Next about the various schemes for the girl child as well as senior citizens. He lauded the initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and encourages the residents to open up accounts for their girl child who are below ten years under Sukanya Samridhi Yojana. Pamphlets with complete details of various schemes were shared with the residents.

We continuously strive to make life simpler yet rich by taking up initiatives jointly with the government. It shall make postal & banking services easier for the residents."

The post office also has a ramp and especially caters to the needs of senior citizens and differently abled. The facilities offered by this advanced post office would be core banking services, a point of sale machine (POS), and facilities of online registries, all transactions would be through the digital form.Western money services would also be offered.An Aadhar centre – for Aadhar enrollment and updating and a Passport Seva Kendra would soon open in the Post office, making things easier for the residents.

Nafe Singh Lather, a senior citizen and resident of Vatika India Next said, "We are thankful to Enviro team for setting up this digital post office in the area. This will make a lot of things easier including enrollment in Aadhar, banking services, digital transactions etc. This is beneficial especially for retired government officers like me who get our posts through post offices. There is no post office in the vicinity and earlier we had to travel till Manesar for any work related to the post office. Now, passport services, as well as Aadhar services, will be at our doorstep."

A Digital board is installed at this modern and advanced post office that would display the different government schemes like benefits of postal banking services- post office savings scheme, post office savings account, central government schemes like Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, senior citizen savings account, monthly income schemes, Fixed deposit services, senior citizens savings account, mail track pin code, profit on investments, online consignment tracking etc to the beneficiaries.
